"Maggie and Jean"

Maggie is Dana Weber's oldest daughter. Dana is a good friend of mine. This was painted from a photograph I took about 5 years ago. I started the painting some years back, but then turned it to the wall where it sat until January of this year. This was when Maggie was in High School. I love the reaction of Jean, her grandmother and retired teacher. I could see that Jean was reading and counting the music as Maggie played. Either the practice was flawless or Jean preferred the Grandmother role and praised Maggie for a song well played. The interaction between the two was what moved me to paint this.
